Happy New Year!

Dear Members

I wish all of you a very Safe, Healthy and prosperous New Year from my Family to yours.

2007 is almost behind us. What will 2008 bring? It's anyone's guess, I'm sure.

When I was just a young boy growing up in Queens, NY my friends and I would sit around and wonder what it will be like in the year 2000. Will we make it that far? 57! You'll be real old!  I guess when you are 10 anything older than 18 was old. But for all you old timers (like myself) who were born in the first half of the 20th Century you can feel awed by the fact that you have seen more changes to the world and society than any generation in recorded history. It is mind boggling when you think about it. I hope we see better changes in 2008. LIKE CELL PHONES WORKING BETTER!!!!!! "Are you still there?" "You're breaking up". What a disappointing technology.

When I started the site my main intention and mission was to bring together long lost buddies. So far I can say this site is responsible for more than fifty buddies reuniting after many years of not seeing one another. I alone have reunited with five of these who I haven't seen in more that 35 plus years. I can't describe in words how great it feels. Just knowing that makes me feel proud that Wildflecken Website can help share that feeling with others. Now I am going to take it further. I am adding a feature to the Photo Album that will allow you to post any photo in the album to your own site or to someone else's site without the worry of someone stealing it. When the photo is clicked it will bring them back to Wildflecken Veterans Website. All the photos will be protected by Internet spiders, robots and direct linking to include all copyrights. The idea behind this is to create a category in the photo album and call it "MISSING BUDDIES" We all will be able to upload photos of those individuals who are being sought and hopefully someone will post their photos on other sites and maybe they will see themselves and click the photo and WOW! It's reuniting time.

We now have 410 photographs in the Unit Photo Album. Get up in the attic and dust off that box with those photos of your tour in Wildflecken and upload them. Some reminders on how to see the pictures in the photo album.

When you access the Unit Photo Album there are instructions posted at the top of the page. Please read.

I want to take this time again to thank all those who so generously donated to the Wildflecken Veterans Website. From the bottom of my heart, I Thank You. It is these donation that help me make the Wildflecken Veterans Website better.

Happy New My Friends
